Used price: £4,495 - £6,700
Engine: 865cc parallel twin, 5 gears
Power: 63bhp
Top speed: 125mph
Weight: 205kg

The Triumph Scrambler is a beautiful machine with the look of a cherished Sunday bike, but it actually makes a pretty practical daily runaround. Perfect for Steve McQueen wannabes, trendy commuters or anyone who wants retro without the oil leaks.

The triumph Scrambler gets the 865cc parallel twin engine from the Triumph Thruxton, but with an extra 2bhp and 6ft.lb of torque. Plus a new clutch cuts vibes and raised gearing makes for a more relaxed ride.

The handling can only really be described as adequate, but given the modest performance of the engine it's up to the task. If you're looking for a sporty retro ride you're better off looking to the Ducati Sports Classic range - the Scrambler is more abotu cruising.

The Scrambler really is a gorgeous motorcycle, with tasty twin upswept pipes and just the right amount of chrome. Build qwuality and reliability are good too - the engine has been well proven and no major issues have been reported.

The Scrambler (like others in the Bonneville range) is a little expensive used but it holds its value well, making it a sound buy if you can afford the initial cost. Owners tend to love and cherish them too, so there's lots of really well kept examples around.
