Usually hearing that a bike features a detuned sportsbike engine makes you want to stifle a yawn. But the version of the R6 motor inside this Fazer is cracking - though it has to be reved to deliver its best.
The bassic two-pot sliding caliper front brakes and right-way-up forks may not match the R6's front end, but the FZ6 Fazer is sporty enough. It's composed, stable and practical - more so than the unfaired FZ6 version.
This model Fazer does seem to suffer from random electrical faults and more generally faulty throttle position sensors - leading to ignition, idle and fuel injection woes. This was a warranty issue and there was a recall so most faulty sensors should've been replaced, but there have been reports of them failing again. A dealer diagnostic tool will be able to check.
