Used price: £3,600 - £6,000
Engine: 1255cc lc inline 4
Power: 97bhp
Top speed: 145mph
Weight: 229kg

Due to euro legislation, Suzuki redesigned the big-bore bandit's motor and the result is a 1255cc water-cooled, fuel-injected, torquey delight. It's sumptuously comfy, steers nicely and it's a bargain to boot.

The Suzuki Bandit 1250's motor packs close to 80ft.lb of torque. Together with a typically suzuki-slick gearbox and faultless fuelling, it's a joy to use and will happily pull from 3500rpm in top.

Because of it's big comfy seat, well-positioned pegs and half-fairing, the Bandit is capable of some serious mile-munching. An upgraded frame (over the old 1200 model) and revised suspension dampign and springs also help it to handle well and hide it's weight.

The Suzuki Bandit 1250S is available with or without ABS - if you can opt for the ABS. It's fairly unobtrusive and leaves a lto of braking up to the rider before cutting in.

The old 1200 Bandit was bulletproof and since the new one beenfits from a 6th gear and a 1000rpm lower redline, it's even less stressed.
