Valve clearances don,t change after shim change!

Hi  I have a Cbr600f 2002 model  with 27000 miles on the clock. It was turned into a track bike in 2011 by a reputable garage with approx 24500 miles showing and sold to the person I bought it from in 2013.  I carried out a service including a valve clearance check, to find by my reckoning most of the clearances to be tight. Exhaust clearances averaged 0.18mm, inlet 0.1 - 0.13mm(haynes manual states exhaust 0.25 - 0.31, inlet 0.17 - 0.23 with cam chain tensioner retracted). Took all the shims (which ranged from 1.975 - 2.12)out, did the necessary ...

Trip to Britain

Hello to all, I have just registered so first let me introduce myself : I'm French (nobody's perfect ), 46 years old and I live in the middle of France in a beautiful area called Auvergne. I own 2 Voxans, a cafe racer and a roadster, a Harley 883 and an old PX200. I ride my bikes on the road and on track days (cafe racer). I wasn't able to ride since August 2013 because of a bike accident which left me with a broken ankle so to catch up those missed miles, I plan to cross the ...

Me Again.....

Well, the Lexmoto has packed up again! This time it won't start! I've rung a bike garage in Kings Lynn and they can't fit it in until next week, and it'll be expensive. Therefore would love to do it myself. Plus it's all good experience! So far I've done the following:Checked for a spark and its sparking fine.Noticed the plug was dry so not getting fuel. Checked all fuel pipes for blockages and all seems fine. Checked the vacuum tap on bottom of the tank (sucked on the vacuum hose and fuel comes out of the other nozzle so is fine).Had the carburretor ...

Turbos or superchargers: Which are you most excited about?

Turbos and Superchargers are set to make a comeback on motorcycles, with Suzuki's Recursion concept looking most likely to be the first to bring the turbo back, and Kawasaki looking close to releasing a supercharged Ninja. But which are you most excited about?

Jorge Lorenzo backed to recover from nightmare start to 2014

Jorge Lorenzo%X92s factory Yamaha boss Wilco Zeelenberg has backed the Spaniard to fight back from a disastrous start in his bid to wrestle the MotoGP crown away from Marc Marquez.
