How to get short-term bike insurance

If you want to borrow a mate's bike for a few weeks and don't have third-party cover for it on your current insurance policy, there's an option open to you.
You can get motorcycle insurance on a short term, daily basis, via www.flexirider.co.uk. This allows you to get cover for a few days or a week or two.
Prices start at as little as £10-15 per day. The one thing to be aware of, though, is that the excess can be pretty high, sometimes around the £1000 mark.
