Motorcycle insurance bargains: Honda Hornet 600 (07-on)

Motorcycle insurance costs are an important consideration for any bike buyer. That's why MCN is highlighting some of the best cheap-to-insure motorcycles out there. This time it's the Honda Hornet (07-on).

Insurance group: 11
Engine: 599cc inline 4, 6 gears
Power: 100bhp
Top speed: 140mph
Weight: 173kg

The 2007 Hornet was an entirely new bike to the old Hornet and runs the same engine as the current CBR600RR. It shares the old Honda CB600F Hornet's qualities though - it's easy to ride; great handling and fun. Plus it's only group 11 to insure.

The Honda CB600F Hornet is so easy to ride its perfect for new riders, yet at the same time it has the sporting potential to be fun for everyone. The new Honda CB600F Hornet is incredibly light and agile thanks to its slimfast plan over the last few years, but it's a shame there's only pre-load adjustment on the rear suspension and the front is a bit soft.

The Honda CB600F Hornet is exceptional value for money, it can commute, tour, the jack of all trades if you like. Compared to the competition the Honda CB600F Hornet is competitively priced and as it’s a Honda should hold its value.
