Motorcycle insurance bargains: CCM R30

By MCN -

Motorcycle insurance costs are an important consideration for any bike buyer. That's why MCN is highlighting some of the best cheap-to-insure motorcycles out there. This time it's the CCM R30.

Insurance group: 11
Engine: 644cc single
Power: 44bhp
Top speed: 105mph
Weight: 137kg

If you're in the market for a supermoto and want something a bit different to the usual KTMs, then you could do a lot worse than the CCM R30. Plus it's British.

Prices for used R30s can range anywhere between £900 and almost £3000. It's worth shelling out a little more for a later model with better reliability.

Earlier models made from 2001-2002 use a rotax engine and are less reliable than the later models, which use the same engine from the Suzuki XF650 Freewind.

All the CCM R30 needs is some sticky tyres, and the fully adjustable WP forks, shock and narrow seat will let nothing come between you and a ridiculous angle of lean.
