Nerves and the bike test

Dave Neale, 16 October 2010 01:26

I have ridden bikes on and off since 1964. I took the old style test in 1967 and failed on 2 minor'ish points. I did not take it again regrettably. As I did not want to carry a pillion passenger and my 250 was quick enough at the time. Each decade since, I have gone back to bikes but unfortunately ...

Getting into motorcycles, aged 43

John Finningham, 04 October 2010 19:45

My Biking experience is fairly new. At the tender age of 43 after just passing my DAS test I bought a 650 Bandit (new) and have at the time of writing this done just 211 miles. My previous biking history stems back to when I was around 14 upon joining a school motorcycle club. Trial sidecar. I learnt to ride ...

Keep warm, protect against cold.

rcraven, 07 November 2009 11:44

If you're riding in poor weather conditions, getting colder, wetter etc. take a leaf out of the vintage motorcyclists book. Also put ...

I was too slow on the 1st attempt, 49kmph, so was sent around for another attempt. I was told by instruction and by other bikers not to look at the speedo as I would know ...

I am doing my test in a couple of weeks time so I went to my local centre to see what way it was set up and run. It had been a wet morning but the sun had come out and dried most of the test area but trees had prevented a spot from drying out. The candidate was carrying ...

Module 1 Test complaint

Julie Wood, 27 August 2009 16:14

I am a new rider! I recently passed my mod 1 test for the 5th time, so you can imagine how pleased I felt, only to be told that because my theory was expiring the next day my mod 1 certificate would only be valid til 12pm that night. So I would have to go and take my theory then come back again to ...
