Richard Mellor, 01 September 2011 12:22

A standard Honda Fireblade hit over 200mph this week when, in the hands of female racer Leslie Porterfield, it broke the world speed for litre production bikes at Bonneville Salt Flats. Porterfield, from Dallas, Texas, recorded a two-way average of 200.137mph in the FIM 1000 P-P unmodified production class, to break the previous record, also held by her, by more ...

Staff bikes - Honda Crossrunner: You never stop learning

Phil West, 31 August 2011 15:33

Two thousand, three hundred and forty-seven miles can reveal a lot about a bike. Even about one you thought you already knew. Such has been my first couple of months with the Crossrunner. I picked it up in May having already sampled Honda's new VFR800-based crossover machine (their description, not mine) at the world press launch and at the time thought ...

A well travelled NR750

Peter, 28 July 2011 11:09

The NR rather passed me by when it was announced. The staggering cost of the thing and that fact that I'd had never so much as seen one kept it out of mind. Then about 5 years ago whilst living in Japan, I walked into a dealership and saw one for the first time. I was utterly knocked out by ...

Video: MCN rides a Honda NR750

MCN, 20 July 2011 16:35

Only 300 road-going Honda NR750s were built and at £38,000 it was the most expensive production bike of its day and can now change hands for six-figure sums. The 125bhp, 748cc V4 engine has oval pistons, 32-valves and eight con rods (two per piston). It's the V4 that thinks it's a V8 and featured technology that was way ahead of ...

Honda says it will build FOUR MILLION of these little beauties, along with their Unicorn, Stunner and Activa siblings, each year by 2013. The £570 CB Twister 110 and £720 CB Shine 125 will form the bulk of the growth in output from the three mega-factories Honda will have running in India by late 2012. Is the new Honda CBR250R better than a 1982 Super Dream?

Steve Farrell, 21 April 2011 16:58

A glance at the specs of Honda’s new CBR250R and the Kawasaki Ninja 250R could leave you wondering exactly what manufacturers have been doing for the last 30 years. Like the Ninja 250R, Kawasaki’s 1988 GPX250R was a steel framed four-stroke eight-valve parallel twin. It was even referred to on MCN’s front page as the 250 Ninja, after its bigger ...

Guy Procter, 15 April 2011 17:24

Senior MCN road tester Adam Child and MCN road tester Bruce Dunn are currently at Bruntingthorpe proving ground pushing Honda's new CBR250 and Kawasaki's Ninja 250R to the limit flat out down the two mile straight.
