Hi all,Firstly, hi - I am new here and new to biking, so please go easy on me! I have searched the forum, however, couldn't find anything like this :-(I have completed my CBT and theory tests, and am soon to start training for a proper license. I am new to bikes and have been riding for just over 2 months, however, I have a problem that was confirmed by the instructor assessing me - cornering! I seem to stiffen up when cornering and do not have the confidence to lean - I keep thinking the bike will slip over ...

Thanks Steveyman, I read your post before I took the test earlier. Thought there was no harm in doing the extra shoulder check and felt more comfortable doing so too. Pleased to say I passed!

Hi all!Within the past month I've completed my CBT, theory and mod 1 tests with no problems, however have a question about observations when moving off for the mod 2 test I have this week (and all future rides of course). When moving off, say from traffic lights or in a queue of traffic, what observations should be done?On the mod 1 test I did a right shoulder check before each time the bike moved and passed that with no minors. With one instructor on the road I did just a right shoulder check before moving off each time and this ...

First of all, apologies to mods if this is the wrong section to post this, not sure where else it belongs.Basically i've got my CBT booked for the 22nd this month because i'm really eager to get on a bike so i no longer have to rely on buses for my commute. I booked the CBT, but now I'm wondering if it's a bad idea to do it in the middle of December? We've had one day of snow and a fair bit of frost on the road so I have a feeling it's going to be pretty dangerous first ...

Just wanted a thread to express my excitementPassed my Mod 1 yesterday. However I did get 3 minors. I stalled the bike after the controlled stop (false neutral anyone?) and I missed the speed on both swerve and emergency stop by 1kph!!!! - bit harsh I think. Was bricking it on the U-turn but when the examiner asked what I would like to be called I told him to call me mandy (I find a joke helps leviate the nerves) - so all day I was being called mandy when my name is Josh. Apaz the examiner is a real stiff, fair but ...

hi everyone, well i failed my mod 2 not badly just one thing rest of the ride was good but hey ho, anyway it got me thinking that i dont really want a big naked sportsbike i only want a mid sized trail bike like a drz 400 or similar so i was wondering if its possible to take my mod 2 on a 125 and go on a restricted for 2 years as tbh 33bhp wont bother me to be honest as most of the riding i will do will be on lanes etc, also have i lucked out ...

Hi everyone.i'm pleased to say i passed my A2 test last week first time. was overjoyed. filled with excitement i ignored my friends family and my common sense and went straight out two days later and put down a deposit on a 1994 honda CB 400 SF. i'll have the bike by Wednesday next week and i'm now getting a bit nervous about saying goodbye to my 125. i think the scariest thing is the weight to me. controlling it at low speeds etc or dropping it when pushing it. dont get me wrong i'm dead excited. i guess being a bit worried is a good thing as i should ...
