Winter blues

Jarrefan, 04 November 2012 21:47

I'm going to be riding through winter again this year but my thermal/Gortex/Kevlar gloves don't seem to keep much of the cold out. So which keep your hands warmer - heated grips or heated gloves? Your answers will seriously decide what my wife gets me for Christmas.

Why we ride

Nathan Laws, 24 October 2012 22:01

Why do this? Why do that? Why ride bikes? If you need a reason... Go on, read it. You know you’re curious. The golden glint of the evening spring sun dances across my visor, reflected across the damp-patched tarmac as I begin to sit the bike up post-apex. The throttle grip feels good in my gloved hand, everything familiar and ...

DAS at Circuit Based Training Ltd

Rich B, 17 October 2012 11:10

Mallory Park Circuit Based Training has to be the place to go in the UK if you have never ridden a motorcycle before or want to take a Direct Access course. Many courses are available. I have seen people pass in only 3, 4 and 5 days without a problem. What if you are unsure of your own ability to ...

Oxford HOC raise money for NABB

Stritchy, 16 October 2012 09:26

Twenty-four brave and hardy bikers faced fog and frosty roads to take part in the Oxford HOC End-of-Season Charity Poker Run in aid of the National Association of Blood Bikes on Sunday. A great time was had by all and a total of just over £200 was raised for NABB. A hearty breakfast and warm drinks were much enjoyed by ...

Good vibrations

Jarrefan, 23 September 2012 16:21

After completing my DAS course and investing in a Suzuki Bandit 600 I got myself a SV1000S. The SV has mountains of torque and a top speed of around 140mph but I find it vibrates a lot more than the inline four Bandit. Is this a common thing with V-twins?

UK third world roads

Marmalade2, 20 September 2012 09:17

On Saturday August 11 I collected my new  GSX-R750 and on the way home got a new rear tyre fitted. On August 14 I went to collect a seat pad from someone in Westbury and on my way back along the A36 near Stapleford, Wiltshire I hit a large pot hole in the dark which resulted in a near crash, bent foot peg and a large ...

Across Vietnam on a Motorbike

Ben Loombe-Temple, 14 September 2012 16:21

Like many people in the UK I’m a massive fan of Top Gear. One of my favourite episodes of the show has got to be the Vietnam special, where the three chaps all bought a motorbike in Saigon and rode them up to Halong Bay. Now if you’ve seen that episode then you’ll know just how amazing that experience looked. ...

Kawasaki Z1000

Paul Hayter, 27 August 2012 19:20

My 2010 Kawasaki Z1000 is a modified machine which I also use every day. I don't think it's modded to the extreme, but rather it has some nice subtle modifications which add to the beauty of the bike.
