'Romantic' f**k up

theguywitha50, 03 July 2012 21:38

Thinking you're cool because you're 16 and have a bike that's not a scooter, getting on it backwards so you can make out with a girl sitting pillion. Lets just say she isn't speaking to me and no other girls want to hop on. It's such a shame people were trying to see what we were up to and saw the ...

1000miles in 24 hours on a 125cc for the poppy appeal

dee michael thorne, 26 June 2012 10:16

At 5.30am on Saturday I set off on a challenge to cover 1000 miles in under 24hours on my Yamaha YZF-R125 to raise money for the 2012 Poppy Appeal. The night before my stickers arrived from Fast Signs in Derby and the girls had fun sticking all the poppies on the fairings and my helmet while I did my final prep. I ...

Honda Terrierist Alarm System

KAREN COGGINS, 12 June 2012 12:14

I spotted this ageing Honda whilst on a trip to Glastonbury with a very unfriendly passenger who turned out to be a fantastic bike alarm!

66 hours, 13 minutes and 4 seconds at an average speed of 0.56mph*.  Our pioneering eco-friendly electric vehicle race provided all the thrills of a trip to the post office but with zero emissions (excluding flatulence), meaning that no polar bears slipped into the ocean for our entertainment. TFL ignore bikers again

Garry Grant, 28 May 2012 11:14

I've just received a TFL survey for cycle planning in London. In the main body of the survey it asks you to list your use of various methods of transport such as car, bus, overground, underground, DLR, but no mention or choice for motorcycles or scooters. Discrimination yet again? http://www.researchnowsurveys.com/survey/VOP17051210092169CSPP/enter.asp?subsid=1000508&execid=30110

Paid to ride once upon a time

Chilliesauce69, 24 May 2012 03:18

I feel extremely lucky that I used to get paid to ride motorcycles, until the army took our bike fleet away and gave us bloody Citreon Berlingos to escort our tank transporter trucks around. Miserable sods. Shame I wasn't paid to race - I wouldn't have retired at 26. I would have carried on until I was a danger to myself and everybody else! Or am I ...

What is adventure riding anyway?

DazLoczy, 25 April 2012 20:53

Setting off for my 100 mile commute to work this morning was a step into the unknown. The dark grey skies were ensuring everywhere was soaked by what the water companies will tell us is much-needed rain. I'd recently fitted a screen and handguards to my Kawasaki ER-6n for better weather protection and this would be the first time the ...

We need to learn to share the road

Jeff, 11 April 2012 16:24

I think driving habits are getting worse overall. The amount of distractions for drivers is growing every day. It needs to be said though that with more and more 200mph bikes being sold to inexperienced riders, the fault of accidents involving motorcycles is not always the vehicle's fault. I'm amazed at how many times I can be out on my ...

Sorcha Swims the TT

steviexbaby, 20 March 2012 16:37

Everyone knows just how long and demanding the TT mountain circuit is. It seems even longer when you swim the equivalent of the 37 3/4 miles. My eleven-year-old daughter did just that. Last week Sorcha completed this marathon task, done in order to raise money for St John Ambulance First Responders in the Isle of Man. Followers of the TT ...
