Aprilia RS250 Simoncelli tribute

andysxv550, 10 July 2012 15:08

It's not quite finished yet but here's what I've been working on for the past couple of months. It started out as a fairly scruffy Aprilia RS250 which I stripped, cleaned, serviced, MoT'd etc. I added the RS body work, pipes and carbon bits from Jap4performance, and then set about painting it. I don't have a workshop so all this was done in the back ...

Ducati GT1000ss special

mark mcclean, 04 July 2012 22:37

Ducati never made a big twin street scrambler in the 1970s like Triumph, BSA, Norton, etc so when the Sport Classic range came out I thought it would be a good place to start. My engineer friend Roger Banks made the tank from a Spanish 75cc trail bike, cutting it up and welding strips in to fit the frame. A ...

Unique Kawasaki Streetfighter, my first big bike.

Owen Byrom, 30 June 2012 15:56

In 2010 I was casually browsing eBay for a project 600 that I could use after I'd passed my test. I was looking for a bike I could use every single day and I believe I found that very bike when I stumbled on an 1992 Kawasaki ZZR600. I haggled and managed to get the bike for a very good price. As you can Imagine ...

Own a bespoke classic BMW cafe racer

MCN, 12 April 2012 17:11

Built in the UK by Kevin Hill, 45, his made to order bikes cost less than a new Suzuki Bandit. “I only do twin shock BMWs, bikes built from 1977 to 1984,” said Hill. “They are great bikes, the parts are easy to come ...

My chequered Kawasaki

adam wagner, 21 March 2012 23:53

Here's my ZX-6R G2, which I resprayed with a chequered design. I'm now starting to modify the performance. So far I've added a quickshifter, K+N filter, NGK plugs and an A16 exhaust. I've got loads to do - it's a work in progress.

Is this the ultimate Honda CBX1000?

MCN, 16 March 2012 13:31

A “breakthrough for the Japanese motorcycle industry” was one headline when Honda’s stunning six cylinder CBX was first announced in 1977 and the first photographs which appeared in MCN that year certainly left a lasting impression on one West Country teenager. Thirty five years on Paul Pursey now owns seven of the iconic sixes including this, which features an 1170cc ...
