1975 Suzuki GT550 gets cafe racer treatment

MCN, 24 February 2012 17:04

Called the Honduki, it's an award winning build based on a 1975 Suzuki GT550 but, as you can see, it looks nothing like the pudgy streetbike Japan intended it to be. It's made by Motohanger, a burgeoning custom bike shop specialising in cafe ...

Video: New Victory Judge turned into cafe racer

MCN, 08 February 2012 11:22

Victory Motorcycles isn't a firm you normally associate with cafe racers, but all that could be about to change thanks to Zach Ness, grandson of customising demi-god Arlen Ness. The bike you see below is the NessCafe. Designed and built by Zach Ness and publicly displayed for the first time at last month's New York motorcycle show, it's based on ...

My turbocharged trike

Anonymous, 24 January 2012 18:48

Here's my trike, powered by a turbocharged Rewaco 1.6 Z-tec motor, producing 185bhp at the minute. I'm a paraplegic and I use it for rallys thoughout the year. I usually cover about 12/13k a year so does get used - not like some of these summertime bikers and their bikes! Towards the end of the year the motor will be getting more power. I'm ...

Made in Britain. Chopped in Japan

Conrad Leach, 04 January 2012 12:24

Custom British choppers and bobbers were the main feature at the Mooneyes Show in Yokohama, the world's most prestigious custom bike show of 2011, and it was a fitting tribute to the halcyon days of British motorcycle engineering. But Japanese builders have a unique appreciation and an idiosyncratic interpretation of the versatile twins and singles that dominated the world of ...

Hand built 'retro' is 125 money

MCN, 19 August 2011 12:16

With continuing resurgence in interest in 70s and 80s superbikes, riders are once again buying bikes from their youth. But unless you're after a true 'classic' version - ie original and standard - there are two problems with that: first you'll quickly learn that their performance leaves a lot to be desired, particularly from a modern perspective. And secondly, many ...
