My experience of module 1

Patrick Jarvis, 08 November 2012 13:31

On Tuesday 6 November I passed my module 1 test with no minors. Before I sat the test I decided it would be sensible to research to prepare myself. Yet what I found was chaotic to say the least. Firstly I was on internet forums, and found people complaining about how the test is carried out, that they dropped the bike ...

Motorcycle Headstone

Jon Young, 07 November 2012 15:48

Not something you see every day. Was on a push bike tour across France earlier in the year and stopped to take a photo of a rather photogenic church in Anneville-Ambourville in Normandy. It was only when I'd done this that I noticed one of the gravestones was significantly different from the rest and required closer inspection. I know little ...

Winter blues

Jarrefan, 04 November 2012 21:47

I'm going to be riding through winter again this year but my thermal/Gortex/Kevlar gloves don't seem to keep much of the cold out. So which keep your hands warmer - heated grips or heated gloves? Your answers will seriously decide what my wife gets me for Christmas.

Great day for NABB

Stritchy, 04 November 2012 10:40

The Nationwide Association of Blood Bikes is £200 better off thanks to Wiltshire Honda Owners Club. HOC members organised a charity day at Blade Motorcycles in Swindon and held a raffle in aid of the charity. Thanks to all the contributors who donated some great prizes. The poor MCN girls looked frozen, but I'm sure there were plenty of volunteers ...

NY biking post Hurricane Sandy

robert harwood-matthews, 01 November 2012 16:40

In a city seemingly dominated by hipsters on Triumphs, city boys on Ducati's or BMW's and a handful of fairly loony, LED lit sportsbikes, the biker is still an outsider here in New York. It is in no way as mainstream as say Paris or London. There are no bike parking bays, removeable license plates are the norm, roads are ...

Why we ride

Nathan Laws, 24 October 2012 22:01

Why do this? Why do that? Why ride bikes? If you need a reason... Go on, read it. You know you’re curious. The golden glint of the evening spring sun dances across my visor, reflected across the damp-patched tarmac as I begin to sit the bike up post-apex. The throttle grip feels good in my gloved hand, everything familiar and ...

Counting by motorcycles

Simon, 20 October 2012 19:28

By 22 months, thanks in part to MCN and to the fact I have a bike, my son is already motorcycle mad. His favourite rider is Tom Sykes. He thinks he's a superhero seeing Tom in his team green gear and fluorescent helmet. He says, "Go Tom, you'll win the title next year!" This video show one of his favourite ...
