Traffic on Britain’s roads has almost double in three decades, government figures reveal. Despite a slight dip in traffic between 2004 and 2005, the figures are on the rise again. It is also bad news for the environment as a 52 per cent increase in carbon emissions was also recorded.

After 16 years of tolls, bikers can now cross the Itchen Bridge in Southampton without paying for their travels. Southampton council currently charge 20 pence for motorcyclists crossing the bridge.
