Staff Blog: It’s not all about the new stuff

Richard Newland, 01 August 2013 10:48

While at the Goodwood Festival of Speed a couple of weeks ago, I was chatting with an MCN reader about the BMW 90th Anniversary display, each of us singling out the models we’d own if money was no object. He was a nice chap, but his ‘mate’ clearly had a bit of a chip on his shoulder about the bike ...

Used buying guide: BMW GS

Jon Urry, 12 July 2013 08:30

Staff Blog: I bet it won’t go off-road…

Richard Newland, 19 June 2013 10:10

Whether I’m picking up a curry on a Saturday night, filling up with petrol somewhere, or answering calls from readers who are thinking of buying one (or never buying one) – I’m regularly bombarded by the sure assertion that the R1200GS must be rubbish when the Tarmac gives way to the soft stuff. The GS isn’t ...

MCN, 29 May 2013 15:44

If you’d told me ten years ago that I’d be ecstatic at the prospect of riding an R1200GS as a longterm test bike, I’d have been breathless with laughter before any sort of verbal response could form on my lips. But back in the here and now, I’m just that – ecstatic. So what’s changed? Well there’s no point pretending ...

MCN, 02 October 2012 10:00

The new BMW R1200GS will use a 125bhp water/air cooled motor and feature semi-active suspension. The biggest change comes in the engine, with the introduction for the first time of water-cooling.
