My custom 1996 Kawasaki Vulcan 800

1 of 3

I traded an old BMW for this ’96 Kawasaki Vulcan 800. I thought it looked like a good candidate for a chop job, so over time this is what I did.

I stripped it and sold off the good parts on Ebay. I then picked up junk parts to assemble what you see. It includes an old Harley police seat I re-covered with a leather jacket from the thrift store, a Harley back fender, tail light and handle bars, Big Dog front fender and emblems from a 61′ rambler and a 59′ Studebaker.

I rattle canned the paint with black, then rustoleum army green and cream, then pinstriped and finally wore it off slowly with a mild wet sand.

Then there were lots of coats of clear flat. I also dropped it 3 inches all around and put vintage type tires on it. It rides nice and actually better than original.
