The new BMW R1200RT is gunning for the title of best tourer, and we're in Spain at the bike's launch to see if the bike's updated engine lives upto BMW's hype.
For 2010, the UK's best-selling tourer gets a new 110bhp twin-cam motor putting out 110bhp, and new electronic suspension (ESA2) which allows the rider to adjust damping and spring rate at the touch of a button. The bike also gets a new-look fairing, cockpit and iPod compatible stereo system.
It's being launched alongside the 2010 BMW R1200GS and the BMW R1200GS Adventure, the biggest-selling bikes in BMW's range. Like the R1200RT, the new GS range gets the new punchier motor. Visually they remain the same.
Reporting from the launch, MCN editor Marc Potter said: "While we've had snow, in Spain the problem has been rain, to the extent where part of the planned route is full of landslides! But these bikes are built to do big miles so finding alternative routes should mean we get to put plenty of miles on them over the next two days."
Click back later once we've tested the bikes to see how they fare.
