Hard? Knott!
First time I did Hardknott was on my Lambretta 150 in 1969. It didn't have enough power to get up the last stretch from the steeper west side and I had to push it in gear!
Also recommended is Whinlatter and Honister. It's a great day out trying to get all the Cumbria passes in one run. Not on a knackered old scooter though......

Hardknott Pass
Yeah great, rode the Wrynose on the way to the Hardknot Pass.
Approaching the top of that and I was looking at the chassis of a carcoming the other way!!!! and he couldn't see me!!!!
Luckily I went for a gap to his right when he cut the corner so avoiding a visit to A & E. or worse. I was very lucky that day.
That road is a bitch but great fun. Would be a lot easier on a trailie bike. I was on me Triumph Sprint.
