Harley-Davidson donate bikes to Haiti

i dont see anyone else sending stuff like this to them no quads from all the big names etc or trail bikes or anything of the like to those folks out there the main thing is harley have helped in some way  what ever you think of there bikes

so fair play to you harley

...Seriously though wouldn't it be better to raffle them off and use the cash raised to send aid?

As Speedo007 has already surmised, Buell models like the Ulysses would be the most appropriate gift to a disaster zone, as would the Lightening.

Both of these models benefit from features that make them very manoeuvrable, easy to ride and easy to maintain, compared to most other models of most other marques, including all  of the main Harley Davidson range.

The Buell models I have mentioned have a short wheel base with a steep rake, plus excellent suspension and brakes. They are also comparatively light and these all add up to a highly manoeuvrable machine. The Ulysses also has the benefit of longer travel suspension and chunky tyre treads as standard.

They both feature the very torquey, V twin1203cc, pushrod engine that makes them easy to ride, and they also feature self adjusting hydraulic valves, belt drive and relatively simple retro-engineering that makes them easy to maintain and easy to work on.

I have to agree however that the rest of the Harley range, with the possible exception of the XR1200, would not seem very appropriate.
