‘Rapid response’ team fill pothole after 7 years

Ya should see the state of Irish roads, the council will send out 2 lads with a ton of tarmac, (footpath grade, the fine stuff) and literally fill the pot hole with a couple of shovel-fulls & just drive off leaving passing traffic to flatten the stuff into the hole. This repair lasts literally a couple of weeks, this is done over &  over again. There is a pot hole in Mullingar that has been filled on a regular basis now for the past 15 yrs...... the money for all these new roads in Eire comes from the EU...  not to mention the VRT on all vehicles inmorted to Eire. A brand new ZZR14 costs 16,000 Euros!!!  Why do we pay road tax? Petrol is on average €1.35 a litre.

2 years feasibility study, 1 year consultation, 1 year waiting for officials to make a decision, 2 years to organise tenders for materials and a year to carry out the work....

Or is that me being cynical?
