Be a judge in Bennetts’ Babe contest

A bike insurance firm is facing the arduous task of choosing a promotional model squad from hundreds of hopefuls – and wants motorcyclists to help.

Two riders will get to be on the judging panel in Bennetts’ search for a model squad for its 2010 marketing campaigns.

Former “Bennetts Babes” include Danielle Lloyd and Big Brother 10 winner Sophie Reade.

The 2010 squad will be picked with the help of Page 3 girl and former Big Brother housemate Nicola Tappenden, who launched the search by posing on a Ducati 1198.

It's really quite strange that the industry spends so much time doing this stuff. Equally strange that M/C seem to be stuck with being associated with "Hair Metal" music. At the BSB meets last year, the contrast between the customers and the promotion was really stark. ISTM the customers are generally reasonably well off and getting older but the promotional side still wants to treat us like teenagers. And not even 2010 teenagers but teenagers stuck in 1985.

It's not just the tits and ass either. There doesn't seem to be any middle ground between the ratburger and the full hospitality suite. Why can't I pay some extra and get a decent meal?

If I'm 45-50, married with kids and ride a fully blinged up BMW GS1200 or a GSXR1000, are the babes really going to persuade me to get insurance from Bennetts or tyres from Maxxis?
