MotoGP champion Jorge Lorenzo opens Motorcycle Live

Motorcycle Live at the NEC in Birmingham has been officially opened by 2010 MotoGP champion Jorge Lorenzo as he prepares to spend the day at the show.

Lorenzo was on hand to open the show to the public as the radically overhauled show aims to address issues raised by show goers from previous years. As a result the show will last for eight days and cover two weekends. 

Lorenzo is just one of many racing stars attending the show today. New British MotoGP hopeful Cal Crutchlow will be here along with Moto2 racer Bradley Smith and MotoGP star Randy de Puniet. There will also be a host of other riders including Tom Sykes and Isle of Man TT racers John McGuinness, Michael Dunlop, Michael Rutter, Guy Martin, Keith Amor, Ryan Farquhar and Conor Cummins.

Along with all of the racers there are a large number of new road bikes making their UK debut. Exciting models like the Honda CBR600F, Crossrunner, VFR1200 Crosstourer concept, BMW’s new K1600GT, Aprilia Tuono RS4, Ducati Diavel, new Ducati Monster 1100 Evo and 1198 SP. Other new bikes include the Kawasaki ZX-10R and Z1000SX and the new Suzuki GSX-R600, 750 and GSR750.
