Valentino Rossi ignored rain and dark to join racing greats Kevin Schwantz and Giacomo Agostini leading a fans’ ride-out around Mugello last week.

The two-lap ride, delayed by a thunderstorm, was one of the highlights of the Italian Legendary Tour organised by Dainese, which saw 60 competition winners, dealers and journalists join the stars on a spectacular three-day road tour from Vicenza to Rome.

Security issues meant Rossi only rode on the track part of the tour – aboard a Yamaha Super Tenere. But 1993 500GP world champion Schwantz, aboard a Honda VFR1200F, and 15-times world champion Ago, riding an MV Agusta F4, each joined riders on the road for a full day leg each.
