*** UPDATE: Further to this morning’s statement, a rescheduled date for April 2010 is being planned by organisers – more news when it’s available. ***

** UPDATE: The organisers have now confirmed the show is cancelled – the show will not be rescheduled. The next show is planned for 2011.

Howard Cartledge, Show Director, said: “With a show like the National Motorcycle Show safety has always been of utmost importance to us, and we just won’t take the risk for exhibitors or visitors.

“With the extreme weather travel conditions to and from the venue are just too dangerous, and as many as 45 of our exhibitors, and the stunt teams, are snowed-in across the UK and unable to travel to Manchester.

“It is with huge regret and extreme disappointment that we have had to make this decision. We would like to thank everyone who has worked so hard on the show.”

The Manchester Bike Show could be cancelled within the next 24 hours as exhibitors are stranded by heavy snowfall across parts of the UK.

A decision is due on Thursday morning (January 7 2010) as to whether the show will be cancelled.

The show is currently due to be held this Saturday and Sunday (9-10 January). A spokesperson for the show told MCN:

“It’s not looking good – what’s been happening is that we’ve been loosing exhibitors because they’re snowed in and can’t get to the show. We’ve had eight inches of snow here too.”

MCN is expecting the final decision tomorrow – click back to motorcyclenews.com to for the latest news.
