Video: MCN Adventure - MCN takes on Morocco

Over the past 10 years Morocco has become a Mecca for adventure motorcycling. Just 20 miles from mainland Europe, it's cheap and accessible - a spectacular, ever changing country waiting to be explored.
There's no doubt that rides throughout Europe are rewarding, but the moment you leave Gibraltar and head across the Mediterranean the trip takes on a new meaning. Morocco is an exotic mix of stunning mountain ranges, deep gorges and sprawling deserts.
One of the biggest contrasts to Europe is the people and the places they live. While Casablanca conjures up visions of film stars and glamour, places like Fez are genuinely medieval cities where life has remained unchanged for hundreds of years.
Morocco's 33-million population is equally diverse, a mixture of Muslims and Berber people living alongside true nomads living off the land in the seemingly uninhabitable surroundings of the Atlas mountains, Rekkham Plateau and Sahara desert.
MCN joined an Adventure-Spec-led, two-week expedition at its midway point in the isolated town of Merzouga. The trip had started in Fez and headed into the lower, middle and upper Atlas mountains. Now ahead of us lay the enormous sand dunes in the sprawling Sahara and the undiscovered pistes of the Rekkham Plateau.
