Forces go free as Harley exhibit wraps up

Britain’s biggest ever Harley-Davidson exhibition is offering free entry to members of the armed forces.

Due to close its doors on 30 October, the Manchester-based “Customising, Culture and Harley-Davidson” is allowing serving British military personnel and their families to enter for free. Family tickets usually cost £20.

The exhibition is based at the Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI) and showcases over 30 classic and vintage Harleys – including one from each decade of the 20th century – as well as a range of custom machines from across the world.

Organising firm Claridon operates an international military shipping division and is operates in conjunction with NATO. Boss Chris Scott told MCN:

“ITV News recently aired a feature on military families who have lost their husbands and children who have lost their fathers serving on the front line in Afghanistan. It was heartbreaking to hear about it, and we’ve since worked with ITV to help some of the bereaved familes covered in the program. This free admission to all military personnel and their families offer is as a way of recognising the sacrifice they make for our country.”
