I'd have to say I've had Kawas, Yamas, Triumphs, and overall they were all pretty reliable. All had good and bad, but I think as long as you don't get a BMW fully loaded with electronics, reliability should be pretty decent accross the line.

quality
I have had 5 different triumphs in the last 10 years, other than punctures I have never been left by the side of the road, and never had an issue with corrosion, despite riding about 10k per annum all weathers and hardly ever cleaning them. I had a one year old Susuki that was a total rust bucket after a winter of neglect, my current VFR1200 is less than a year old with 8K on the clock and paint is coming off the swingarm, kick plates look tatty, the rest including exhaust looks crap but when cleaned looks like new, its reliable, but not a great or comfortable bike.

No Bias
Must not be many left-pondians voting, or Harley-Davidson would win in a landslide (due to “religious” belief).
Victory not included? Sure they are not a big seller in the UK, but then neither is MV Agusta.

NT700V Deauville
The shifter attachment bolts on mine lack yellow paint dabs, which indicates dealer assembly, and not factory assembly.
Static seat height is 805mm (31.7 inches), however the seat is rather wide. I have a 33½-inch inseam, and am fine except for trying to back up a slope, where I only have leverage to move the bike a couple of inches at a time. Try at the dealer to see if you can get both feet down.
For me the NT700V is a long-term keeper, unless Honda comes out with a significantly improved model (and imports it to the US – it is not in the 2012 line-up here, which indicates poor US sales).
