Poll: how do you choose your tyres?

They are all good in my opinion but my local tyre shop only stock bridgestone. I am a road and track day rider grip and confidence are number 1. The road tyres that we have today are better than the race tyres of 10 years ago.

For most people it will be a combination of the above options.

Many top level racers riding sportsbikes with sports touring type tyres will run rings around road riders with the latest sports tyres on a track. Many tyres are better than people give them credit and they convince themselves that picking more expensive tyres will make them a faster rider. It's very much a personal choice but for road tyres I see whats available at a good price and  will select from brands that I trust. For track tyres I'll pay a bit more and go after specific tyres.
