Rossi: 'I wish I was raised in the sixties'

Valentino Rossi says he thinks he’d have had a better life on and off the track if he’d been born in the early sixties like his hero Kevin Schwantz.

He makes the comments in a world exclusive in-depth interview  you can read in MCN – in print or on iPad – on Wednesday.

Rossi says: “I would love to be in those fantastic 500 days and fight for one season with Schwantz, Rainey, Gardner, Lawson and Doohan. Life was a lot more easy and more fun compared to now.

“I’d like to be young like when my father (Graziano) was young. He had a good group of friends very similar to me and in fact now we go to dinner together, me with my friends and him with his. But this 30 years later and hearing the stories it looks like it was really funny.”

The wide-ranging interview covers his family plans, a surprise about how long he plans to continue racing in MotoGP and what his girlfriend got him for Christmas…
