BMF show cancelled

The firm behind the BMF’s three big annual events, Mulberry Events Limited, announced on Monday afternoon that it is entering into voluntary liquidation. As a result there will be no BMF Tailend Show this year, which was planned to have been held on 13-14 September. The BMF has stated that it will work with the liquidators of Mulberry Events Limited in an effort to recover any monies paid by members and exhibitors in relation to the cancelled event.

In the meantime, the BMF is regrouping to consider how it proceeds with events, in whatever form, for 2015 and beyond. The Federation’s events have been an integral part of the organisation’s activities from the time of its formation in the 1960s, and have played an important role in generating funds to support the BMF’s activities, as well as providing interaction with the membership and raising public awareness of motorcycling.

However, the BMF has told MCN that it is no longer reliant on show income to fund lobbying activity, and is keen to reassure motorcyclists – and especially members – that the organization is in good financial health, and is able to continue to represent the interests of motorcyclists.
