Reports that Ducati’s new BMW R1200GS rival will be called the Cayenne have been denied by a factory sources.

It had been reported elsewhere the bike would be named after Porsche’s four-wheel-drive SUV but insiders told MCN this was untrue. It is more likely to be named the Strada Aperta according to sources.

The 1098-powered Multistrada replacement – revealed by MCN in January – will debut at the Milan Motorcycle Show in November.
