Norton has set the price of its new Commando 961 at £15,995 with the first of the pre-production bikes expected to be built at the end of July.
The Commando is the first bike the newly-British owned firm will be selling and represents the end of the work started on the parallel twin machine by the previous American owner Kenny Greer.
Norton boss Stuart Garner said: “Final tooling is just being signed off now and we hope to get the first pre-production bikes built up shortly. The price has been set at £15,995 for the Commando and we will be contacting the 7000 or so people who expressed an interest.
“If they wish to pursue the purchase we will be asking for a 10 per cent deposit.”
