Japanese tuner Moriwaki track tested its Moto2 MD600 at Suzuka in Japan for the first time last week as it prepares to sell kits to racing teams.

Moto2 will be replacing the 250cc two-stroke racing class in MotoGP with Honda recently announced as the engine supplier for all teams.

The bike completed 40 shake down laps with rider Shogo Moriwaki on board and the team are happy with the direction the chassis and Honda CBR600RR engine are going in.

A statement by Moriwaki said: “The purpose of testing was to evaluate and see the based potential of the MD600, the third prototype which now has an aluminium frame.

“Checking the basic functions of each part of the chassis was carried out over 40 laps.”

Moriwaki will continue development so it can sell complete racing kits at the end of this year for the 2010 racing season.
