Triumph will be doing a limited run of factory-fitted 1700c big-bore kits for the Thunderbird that are normally available as retro-fit parts. The 1700cc kit consists of new pistons, liners, camshafts and up-rated clutch springs and lifts power from 85bhp to 97bhp with torque rising from 106ft lb to 115ft lbs.

The factory-fitted kits will also come with a unique clutch cover and are fully homologated.
Two new paint options for the Thunderbird were also shown at Milan. Hand-painted at the Hinckley factory, Phantom Blue Haze and Phantom Red Haze have a metallic finish and in sunlight the colour appears to change from black to blue or red. These paintschemes will be available from February.
