New 2010 MV Agusta F4 1000 – new teaser photo

well, as an owner of a new Brutale for just over the last twelve months i can say that (i) the bike has been totally faultless in terms of reliability (ii) dealer service has been spot on - though living only 10 miles away also helps (iii) is a total joy to ride (iv) i've never had a bike like it that gets so many positive looks and comments.  i'm not that interested in aftermarket parts as the standard bike (red and silver of course!) looks spot on.  i accept that there is a big premium to pay for an mv, and this might sound a bit naff, but i'd like to think that i've bought into a little bit of italian biking history dating back to 1945, with a GP racing pedigree second to none .... Surtees, Hailwood, Agostini, Read.  ok, it's a long time ago, but that's brand heritage that engineering and marketing alone cannot create overnight.

boybilly is right, the current crop of jap superbikes are probably technically superior, but to me are all a bunch of munters - what happened to the 2002 R1?!  MV had the stroke of genius by getting Tamburini to design the F4 and Brutale and, like the 916, look as good now as when they first appeared.  and the F4 has even been displayed in the Guggenheim!

I was of the understanding that MV who are wholly owned by 'Harley Davidson' are up for sale and hadn't heard there was a new buyer?

Now either HD are funding the new MV F4 using the bail-out funds received from the U.S Govt. or I am missing something?

Would welcome anybody's input on this?

As to the post from 'fcooke' re. his exhausts: Let's just be thankful that, while under HD ownership the new model hasn't become non-metric.....

I'm probably going to get shouted at for this by enraged fans but I've never got the F4's visual appeal.  The nose in particular always struck me as unattractive. However if they've sharpened the whole bike up then I may want to start saving to buy one in 30 years time...
