2010 Ducati Multistrada squares up against GS

These latest exclusive pictures of Ducati’s new 2010 Multistrada show the Italian firm is going straight after sales of BMW’s R1200GS.

The extreme test conducted on a motocross track was spotted by one of MCN’s spy snappers and shows the new 1098-powered Multistrada being endurance tested in Italy.

The bike was getting at least six feet of air over some of the jumps although our pictures only got the bike coming down from the highest point.

But it shows Ducati is serious to prove to the world this bike is more than just another tourer that can only handle road riding. The bike will line-up squarely against the BMW R1200GS, the Moto Morini Gran Passo and KTM’s 990 SM-T.

Apart from a slight disguise, the bike appears to be almost finished, suggesting it’s ready for production. Expect the fully-finished version to be unveiled at the Milan motorcycle show in just a few weeks.
