This is what Valentino Rossi¹s YZR-M1 looks like stripped of all sponsor logos and painted in Yamaha corporate racing colours.
The bike is mechanically identical, but Yamaha chose to paint it and display it at Tokyo right next to a white YZF-R1 road bike to try and show the link between the two.

shame yamaha haven't aped the look of the M1 on the R1 .... and instead have given us a real munter for the road. come on yamaha, give us an R1 that goes as well as the current model but looks like an M1!
