2010 Vmax only available online

Yamaha again trying to create a lifestyle statement out of the bike. Don't know how many people will remember the range of 'pulse' merchandise to accompany your MT01 (not naming the bike was never a great move for making it a life-style doobry).

So, take a cult bike, add ridiculous price tag and connected paraphrenalia, and try to make it a "statement". But.....unlike a Harley, owning a VMax is unlikely to impress bikers or non-bikers (not saying all bikers are impressed with Harley ownership). Non-bikers won't know what you are talking about, bikers will think you have an inverse relationship between wealth and brains.

Too bad as the VMax is probably a good bike, but at this price is destined for mediocre sales and eventual deletion.

Have to agree, Yamaha seem to have lost touch with reality recently. Buying online only means they won't sell many of these.

1. Buyers want to feel like there's some scope for bargaining, even if it's ony some discounted clothing or accessories.

2. Buyers want to talk to a person, especially if it such a big purchase. They need some sort of trust in the person  they are dealing with.

3. People often have a trade-in. How would you do this online?

Add to this the price, which is staggering (similar to a B-king plus a GSXR1000), then they really will struggle with this one.
