CBR600RR gets lairy new colour for 2010

Honda’s CBR600RR is getting this graffitied zebra look for 2010, joining a range of refreshed colours that now includes:

- Graphite Black (Mono-Black)
- Graphite Black/Victory Red
- Pearl Sunbeam White/Tricolour

Only the non-ABS CBR gets the ‘Special Edition’ (Pearl Sunbeam White with bold graphics) as an option.

We were never due a new CBR600RR this year, or a new blade, they aren't 'skint', nor is it a 'year old model in real terms' (actually 3 years old!), Most major sports bikes now follow a four year cycle, new bike comes out, minor facelift/revamp two years later, and all new bike two years after, with the cbr600rr, the 2003/2004 models were the same, 2005/2006 model was facelifted/tweaked, then the all new bike came out in 2007, last year it had minor tweaks, so 2010 will be the same as this years, with a new bike the year after, the same policy has been on the fireblade for years, and is followed in one form or another by all the big four. even ducati follow a similar pattern of 'mid life tweaks' to there bikes. bikes like the 1098/cbr600/zx10 etc cost millions to develop so they have to be on sale for long enough the maker to recoup their initial investment. If you look at the touring (st1300 came out in 2002, BMW RT's were made for years with very few alterations), custom (pretty much any Harley from the dawn of time itself), naked bike (oil cooled bandit, original hornet was nearly nine years) market, sports bikes change pretty often.

as last year with new colours... Following in the footsteps of big brother (CBR1000 RR)... Take it Honda is skint too???

Ah well... It does look good but it's still a pretty lame attempt to shore up the price for a new machine which is actually at least a year old in real terms...

Why don't they fit a new 'BUTTON' which doesn't really do much but gives all the idiots something to boast about down the pub? Worked for the Suzuki GSXR1000 riders a few years back with the A,B,C mode nonsense although that did do something but many still wonder what it was............
