The new 2011 Z750 ‘R’ version gets new 41mm highly adjustable front forks, matched with an aluminium swingarm and remote reservoir piggy-back rear shock.

It also features 4-piston radial front calipers with 300mm petal discs and a radial pump brake reservoir, together with braided hoses as standard. 

The new Kawasaki Z750R will cost £6,999 (or £7,140 if you order it after the VAT rise) which puts it right up against the Street Triple R at £7,199. But is it good enough to compete?
