BMW C1-E Concept to make UK debut

The BMW concept scooter, the C1-E, is to make its UK debut at the National BikeSafe Motorcycle Show this month.

The C1-E concept is based on the existing C1, however the main difference is its electric motor, which gets its power from a lithium-ion battery, which BMW say provides, “enough power to master inner-city traffic with ease, or alternatively the vehicle can also be equipped with a low-emissions internal combustion engine.”

The safety features taken from the former BMW C1 have been enhanced, the C1-E boasting a roll-over bar spanning the rider, combined with energy-absorbing features at the front, as well as a rider harness.

The National BikeSafe Motorcycle Show 2010 is at the Sheffield Arena on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 June.
