Even the base spec versions of Aprilia and Ducati’s latest superbikes, the RSV4 and 1198, are now bristling with electronic rider aids such as traction control and anti-wheelie – but how good are they?

To find out we roped in ex-WSB world champ and MCN guest tester Neil Hodgson to put both bikes through their paces on road and track – and his verdict was truly impressive.

In a nutshell: the latest road bikes feature more sophisticated and effective electronics than even works racers of just a few years ago and most – but not all – make a huge difference to the riding experience.

See exactly how much difference and what Neil does – and does NOT – rate about the bikes in next week’s MCN – out Wednesday June 29.
