Staff blog: The myth of the Burgman's small tank

Steve Farrell, 22 May 2013 11:23

I've established the Suzuki Burgman 650 ABS Executive has a much longer tank range than it’s credited with.   Some reports have estimated it at 150 miles, probably because the fuel warning starts flashing at about 130. In fact you’ve got a bar left on the gauge and at least 40 miles in the tank at that point.   There’s ...

Steve Farrell, 14 May 2013 10:50

In this week’s paper I report how the heated grips on the Suzuki Burgman 650 could be warmer. Just about every journalist on the launch in Scotland seemed to agree on the point. Some said they seemed to work intermittently.  Others questioned whether they worked at all. Suzuki scratched their heads and said they’d look into it. On the ride ...

Insurance error fixed

Steve Farrell, 02 September 2011 12:27

MCN revealed how insurers and comparison websites insist the bike is 998cc when in fact it is either 988cc or 999cc depending on year of manufacture. Riders who give the correct capacity are charged more for having a ...

Oliver's Mount racing blog: Barry Sheene Festival

Adam Child, 12 July 2011 13:07

My road racing season continues but this time at the tight and twisty Oliver’s Mount, Scarborough. Oliver’s Mount is the last true road racing circuit left in the UK, nearly 2.4 miles of park road, narrow in places with a few jumps thrown in for good measure. I was there competing in the modern open class, as part of the ...

But there should be a fanfare along with acres of draped bunting at all Suzuki road bike dealers, because the humble but hugely popular V-twin middleweight is still pegged at under five-grand with its on the road price of £4999. Find a Suzuki SV650S ...
