NBC Charity Ride for Barnsley Hospice, Sunday July 21. The ride will leave Tesco, Barnsley, S70 3NS at 10.30am. We'll ride to the hospice to hand over donations collected, then on to Yonderman Café in Derbyshire - an 85 mile round trip. South Yorkshire Police motorcycle riders will escort us through town. £5 per bike, all motorcyclists welcome. www.icydesigns.co.uk

Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service are offering free 'Biker Down' courses to local riders. The courses, which last approx 3 hours, include first aid, collision scene management and a discussion on why other road users sometimes don't see us and how to help them see us better. My son Andrew is travelling around the world on his 1991 Yamaha Tenera motorcycle. His gearbox broke so for the last six weeks he has been stranded in Temuco whilst he could source out the parts he required to fix his bike.
