Banned from parking in business park

Anonymous, 02 July 2013 14:50

I work on a business park which is running short of parking spaces and has no bike spaces at all so I use a car parking space. I am being told that they are going to ban motorbikes from parking in the business parks with a £100 fine. Is this legal? As a relatively new biker do we really have ...

My son the criminal

jess jephcott, 15 February 2013 15:30

An interesting situation is developing in our lives at the moment - I would welcome comment about it. Last June, my 17-year-old son went to a local supermarket on his motorcycle to use the cash machine. Whilst in the car park he was hit by a car, knocked off and injured. It turned out that the driver of the car was a family friend. ...

Helmet law?

Gsxrlfc, 04 August 2012 17:29

Recently at a bike meet in Staffordshire I noticed a rider turn up on his bike wearing a turban and no helmet. This may be old news but it still shocked me and I understand the religious side of this but surely the law states that you have to wear a helmet and law aside it's there for safety? So why is it being allowed on ...

Ducati GT1000ss special

mark mcclean, 04 July 2012 22:37

Ducati never made a big twin street scrambler in the 1970s like Triumph, BSA, Norton, etc so when the Sport Classic range came out I thought it would be a good place to start. My engineer friend Roger Banks made the tank from a Spanish 75cc trail bike, cutting it up and welding strips in to fit the frame. A ...

It had to happen sometime, the slow decline of the bike industry as we know it, probably blamed on the recession, or exchange rates. But here's my take on the situation so far, based on my son's experience. Firstly after paying £600 to insure his Aprilia RS50, his insurance company wouldn’t transfer the remainder of his policy onto an Aprilia ...

Supermarkets make bikes rough

Nathan Lewis, 01 April 2011 16:31

Been only 17 you expect me to have not much money (correct) so I tend to find the cheapest deal, be it insurance, oil or fuel. Recently I went to get my bike checked because it was running a bit rough, only to be told not to buy supermarket fuel. So I took the advice on this and bought some fuel ...
