DVLA license cock up

pete v, 05 January 2008 16:21

Similar scenario with the DVLA except with car entitlement. They only have record of my full bike licence. Both tests were taken & passed in 1982. I discovered this when police stopped me in the car before christmas. I phoned Swansea, quoted my licence number and they suggested I send my licence in. I do not intend doing so unless they provide me ...

Thinking outside the box!

Robin Brown, 16 December 2007 20:46

I have a great disliking for chains. Having ridden shaft drive BMW's for 20 years I now have a belt driven model - brilliant. Years ago I had an idea that transmission could be by hydraulic pipe. I think this has now been achieved as a front wheel off roader. By Honda perhaps. Why not persue this for the rear ...

Friendly warning about Sandbach roads

Boult, 29 April 2007 14:41

A friendly warning for other bikers who have the mis-fortune of having to pass through Sandbach, Cheshire. If you come in to the area on the 'by-pass' you will first come throught the lights. The road here is now 22 years old and starting to wear. However, take care at the first roundabout you come to - there are several areas ...

Crashed because of a bad road

Rob jupp, 23 April 2007 21:48

Driving to work along the A2 southbound from Chatham, Kent on April 12, 2007 at abuot 3.30 in the morning. The weather conditions were good, but as the time suggests it was dark. I left the A2 at the M25 junction turning right at the roundabout going towards the Dartford Tunnel on the M25 taking the last junction going to Erith ...

Worst road in Sussex

Dave Cleaver, 20 April 2007 11:00

Here is a copy of an email sent to West Sussex county council about the state of our roads: Dear Ms Scarratt, Thank you for your reply. With respect, this whole issue is about what can be considered acceptable and what can actually be described as disgraceful. No other road in any county would be permitted to remain in such ...

M3 / M25 junction - The worst road I know

Laura, 10 April 2007 12:34

The worse road I know for motorbikes is not some suburban or even urban street, but the southbound M3 at its junction with the M25. The 'day joints' in the tarmac have been breaking up for seven or eight years now and are somewhere between 3" and 12" wide. What makes this so bad is that most traffic is either travelling at ...

Disgraceful Derbyshire road

gary brough, 05 April 2007 08:04

I have seen your pothole voting story and had to let others know about the junction of Carr Lane to Northern Common in Dronfield Woodhouse, Derbyshire. It is an absolute disgrace and it is only a matter of time before someone comes a cropper at this junction due to its terrible state of repair.

My Triumph spoke problems

Anonymous, 03 April 2007 17:09

There's been a lot written about this problem with Triumph Bonneville spokes breaking - here is my experience. I bought a new T100 Bonneville from Ongar MC's in Jan 2005. Last Spring I noticed that a spoke had broken on the rear wheel. Took it to dealer in York - A1 Moto - who said they would contact Triumph for ...
