Fogarty charity honour

Carl Fogarty and his wife Michaela have been honoured by the NSPCC for their role in ending child cruelty. The Fogartys will be inducted into the NSPCC’s ‘Hall of Fame’ this week for their outstanding and consistent contribution to the charity. Super breathalyser on the way

A new road-side breathalyser that provides results accurate enough to convict drink-drivers is set to be introduced next year. The Home Office is currently looking for a company to produce the breath tester which is accurate enough to act as evidence, unlike the devices currently in use which are only suitable for screening purposes.

90 killed or seriously injured on roads each day

A report released this week revealed that 90 people are killed or seriously injured each day on UK roads. Biker boy tops the tonne

One of Britain’s oldest bikers celebrated his 100th birthday today (Monday, March 12, 2007). Normally at the wheel of his Robin Reliant three-wheeler Norman Yeo from Bristol is still as active today as was when he last took any sort of driving test – for driving a tractor, and that was in 1953.

The worst road in the UK

A poll of 4,000 motorists has revealed that the A12 (from Great Yarmouth  to London) is the worst road in the UK. According to those surveyed the road is littered with potholes and is frequently closed due to ongoing botch repairs.
