Benelli v MV v 998 v RSV

It’s the ultimate in silly money road tests: In the latest issue of MCN, out August 14, we pitch the new £22,500 Benelli Tornado Tre against its rivals for the title of: " Best Road Bike Money Can Buy " .
The Tornado, Ducati 998, Aprilia Mille and MV Agusta F4 would happily grace anyone’s dream garage. In fact with a total value of £52,000 you could probably buy the garage and the house to go with it in some parts of the UK.
But does the Tornado justify its huge asking price? Full carbon-fibre fairing, Ohlins suspension front and rear and magnesium Marchesini wheels are for starters. A radiator system with huge fans under the seat lend to the unique look, and the bark from the Arrow pipe is aural Viagra.
On the road the Tornado turns quickly, faster than the 998, but just as accurately. The gearbox is a peach, light and direct, but you do have to keep stirring it for rapid progress.
But would our road tester recommend it over its rivals? Is it worth the price of three GSX-R1000s? Read the new MCN for our testers verdicts.
Also in the new MCN, there’s an exclusive look at the new, naked ZX-9R based muscle bike. It’s got to be one of the most radically styled bikes to go into production in years and you can see it first in MCN.
There’s the latest pictures of Ducati’s controversial Multistrada – the factory have tweaked the details, but what about the styling?
